Choosing the Best Resort Software for Campgrounds and RV Parks
Managing a resort, an RV park or a campground could be tedious if you are not using camp management software specifically designed for the job. Keeping track of income and expenses, online bookings and reseRVations, long term tenant payments and managing repair work orders are just some of the many things that campground management software can help you with.
In this article, we will help you determine what reservation software is a fit for you. If you are looking for Tenant Software and Resort Reservation Software you should carefully read this article as this could be a vital role in being more successful.
First, you must know your needs. What are you looking for in a resort reservation software tool? Second, do you need a desktop application or a web-based program? Third, is the software user-friendly? Fourth, how affordable is the vacation rental property management software?
Common features of RV park software applications are:
Check for availability and make reservations including the arrival date, departure date and manage multiple rental rates.
Generate confirmation notices and payment receipts.
Process Online payments
Keep track of deposits, payments to accounts, and other income sources. Generate registers for your income reporting accounts
Record important information on all of your rental units
Keep track of rent payments for long term tenants which include utilities and other charges such as late charges. Accept partial payments and government subsidies.
A way to add misc. charges and record full and partial rent payments and print rent receipts.
An easy-to-use database that tracks all the information about your guests especially payments
Record all your expense payments and travel deductions. View deposits and debits for any number of expense reporting accounts.
Track of all your income and tax deductible expenses and generate tax form reports.
Some reservation system software will also keep track of schedules, generate form letters to be mailed or emailed, and provide other tools to help you streamline your business. Consider these additional features:
Send promotional materials or other form letters to all of your guests, vendors, family, friends or any other contacts
Keep track of all the appliances, furniture, etc. that are included with your rental units.
Create Work Orders for any repairs or maintenance, track vendors, schedules, work completed and amounts paid.
Display your appointments, deadlines and other important events in Daily, Weekly or Monthly Calendar formats.
Create To Do Lists with room for notes, deadlines, priorities, etc. with project management software.
The best vacation rental software also includes tools which allow you to look up where area codes are, calculate time zone differences, and has a universal calculator that adds or subtracts numbers, dates and times, converts length, volume and weight measurements, computes discounts, sales tax, foreign money exchanges and loan payment amounts.
One major thing to consider is, should it be a desktop application or a web-based application? Here are some differences between the two:
A web-based application, which includes any software you log on to a web site to access, requires a fast, reliable internet connection. A desktop application is an application that runs without the need of an internet connection.
If you do not have a very fast internet connection, it could take you several times longer to get the same amount of work done. Desktop software is generally much faster and easier to use than web-based software.
If your web connection goes down, or the company's website were to go down, or the company went out of business, you will no longer have access to your data if using web-based applications. A desktop application, if backed-up regularly, is more secure and reliable than a web-based application.
With desktop applications, you generally pay just once, and technical support is often included. With web-based applications you rent the software, paying monthly fees and often get only email support.
The next thing to consider is how easy is the software to use? Is it easy to understand? Are you comfortable using the software? Can you get technical support easily and quickly, both by phone and by email? Does that support cost extra?
The final question is, how much are you willing to spend for this software? Would you rather pay less on a monthly basis for web-based software, which will add up to much more over time, or pay one reasonable amount up front and get the features, speed and reliability of a desktop application?
As a small business owner, I'm sure you would rather find ways to save money and at the same time have the features and capabilities you are looking for in campground software?
With these things in mind, you can now determine what would be the best reservation management software for your need. The best campsite software in my opinion is Resort Rental Tracker Plus. It is a reasonably priced desktop application that is easy to use and is available for most Mac and Windows computers.

Buying Tips For Camping Stoves
The vast selection of Camping stoves tagged with technical terms a layman wouldn’t understand, may be scary for some who are not that experienced when it comes to Camping and buying camping stoves. However, purchasing the right camping stove is not as hard as it may seem.
Here are some considerations you should take into account when buying a camping stove. With these information and simple tips, selection and purchase would be much easier
Size
Camping brands like Coleman offer one, two and multiple burner camping stoves. What you should opt for should depend on the volume of cooking you intend to do. If you’re solo packing, a camping stove with one or two burner may do but if you intend to go camping with the whole family or plan to have a camping cook feast with a bunch of friends, go for a camping stove that has two or more burners to save time cooking.
Type of Fuel
After deciding which stove size is suitable for your camping needs, the next thing to consider is the type of fuel you’ll want to use. Your fuel options include propane, white gas (otherwise known as Coleman fuel), unleaded gas, butane or kerosene. However it is mostly recommended to use either propane or white gas only.
Out of all the camping stoves, those that are fuelled by white gas produce the most heat. It is the more environment-friendly choice for it burns cleanly without any odor or effect on food taste as well as produces less waste.
Many of the Coleman camping stoves that are fuelled with white gas operate on dual fuel system which means that the stove can run either on white gas or unleaded gasoline. However, it is best that you use only white gas unless during cases when you run out of it and can’t buy any.
Propane camp stoves on the other hand are simpler and more easy to use, but weigh a lot heavier compared with white gas. But propane Coleman camping stoves are also great choices because of their easiness to operate and ignite, and good performance in warm climates and at low elevations. Most Coleman camping stoves powered with propane fuel even have electronic ignitions to save time and energy.
Type of Camping Activity
Another consideration to make is the type of camping you intend to do during your trip. For example, if you plan to go backpacking, choose a camping stove that is lightweight, has a single burner for this is easier to carry in your load.
But if you intend to go on a family camping trip, a group hike or RV camping, it is more appropriate to opt for three or four burner stoves that would allow you to create a grand fiesta for everyone.
Now, if you’re planning to go on a beach camping trip or have a backyard party where you’ll probably want to do some grilling on the side, a combination of a stove and grill is the perfect choice for you.
Many camping brands such as Coleman provides you with a wide array of quality camp stoves and background information on its features to make your choice much easier.

RV Garage Plans – Important for Motorhome Owners
Otherwise known as the recreational vehicle, it is often used as both a vehicle and temporary travel home across Europe and in other parts of the world. Intended for a wide range of uses like, leisure trips, vacations and Camping, as well as full-time living quarters as is evident in trailer parks, the RV has in its own inimitable way become part of the modern-day landscape in which we live. RV garage plans that are cost-effective are what you need to consider when embarking on such a building project.
Why?
Because the cost element is significantly higher than that of your regular garage, and although you may be able to obtain most materials as you would when creating a standard garage, you all need to consider modifications that would include an elevated roof, and perhaps an exhaust to protect the RV from exposure to the elements.
Determining the size of the your RV and obtaining the necessary building permits are the first steps you need to take as it may take a few weeks. That said, and considering the fact that a garage is an extension of the home, it is highly unlikely that your application will be declined.
Location is key
Where you plan to build your garage needs to be ascertained from the outset? Most homes either have front or side garage, but either way, ideally your garage should be constructed in the most accessible location -- usually where the house is most accessible to the driveway.
Your RV garage plans therefore need to take into consideration WHERE you plan to locate your garage because it is the space available that may provide that key element in determining how the interior of your garage should be constructed in respect of the functions you have planned for it. Once you have determined it, the rest is easy.
Economics
At the end of the day, you want to know how much it is going to cost you. The amount of money you can expect to spend on building your new garage. If you are planning to go the DIY route, then obviously, you stand to save a considerable amount of money, although it can't hurt to hire a handyman to help out with its construction, that as considering if you yourself are not a DIY expert.
In square feet, depending on where you live, it may cost you anywhere from 30 to 100 GBP; and this will also depend on the material you use. That said the sure-fire way to save a significant amount of money is to come up with cost-effective and well thought through RV garage plans which are easily available from different websites that specialize in building garages.

Bass Fishing Pro Tips
In this article I will reveal some bass fishing pro secrets. I'll tell you about one bass fishing technique that will make bass literally attack your lure! I'll reveal why the taste and texture of your bait makes a difference, and I'll tell you what color lures to use depending on the prevailing weather conditions.
First let's look at how to choose the best color lure. Knowing how to choose the right bass fishing lure will increase your catch dramatically! There are three main variables to consider when choosing your lure: light, water, and what the bass happen to be eating for supper on that particular day.
The amount of light and quality of light will depend on the time of day and the prevailing weather conditions. On cloudy and grey days, lean toward a brighter color lure like chartreuse. On clear sunny days, a white color lure is often a good choice. Surprisingly, as light becomes more scarce, darker color lures seem to work best. Some bass fishing pros recommend using black or grape colored lures as nightfall approaches.
You must also factor in water visibility when choosing the color of your bass fishing lure. And in case you didn't know, bass have excellent eyesight! According to Bill Dance, "A bass' eye receives five times more light than the human eye and can see forty feet in clear water. In murky water, they can see up to seventeen feet. In muddy water, they can see five to seven feet."
If the water is dark or murky, bright and shiny or flourescent colors will be your best choice to attract attention. When the water is downright muddy like chocolate milk, then flashy, bulky, and noisy baits are your best bet. If the water is clear, you will want to choose natural colored lures that imitate the food found in the bass environment.
Try to determine what the bass are eating and factor that into your choice of bait. Bass eat sunfish, minnows, shiners, bluegill, crayfish, frogs, and insects. But you could add a lot more things to the list. Large bass have been known to eat baby ducklings, rats, and blackbirds. Your shiny and silver or yellow lures will imitate minnows and sunfish. Your greens and browns resemble crayfish and frogs. If you can determine what the bass are biting on, you will always be more successful.
Equally important to the choice of color is the smell, taste, and feel of your bait. According to Bill Dance, "Bass can smell eight times better than a dog."
A lot of fisherman fail to take into account the smells that rub off their hands onto their bait. Your hands must be free of the smell of any petroleum products like gasoline, suntan oil, or sunscreen. Insect repellent, nicotine, and the natural oils produced by your skin alert bass that there's a predator in the vicinity. These man made scents will literally scare away a wary bass. Conversely, coating your bait with a powerful scent like cod liver oil or other fish attractant can make a big difference in the size of your catch.
If you're a smoker, just remember that when you're bass fishing, you have got to clean your hands before handling your bait or lure. Bass fishing expert Russ Bassdozer recommends, "Just keep a bar of Ivory soap on the boat. It is 99.44% pure, no added perfumes, and it floats if you drop it." The smell of soap, of course, is not exactly a plus either, so you should use some kind of fish attractant to mask or neutralize the negative smells that adhere to your hands.
As for the taste and feel of your bait or lure, it's important to understand how a bass eats its prey. When chasing a fish, an agressive bass will inhale its prey with its large cavernous jaws. But once inside its mouth, the bass will taste and feel whatever it is it chomped on, and only then will it decide to swallow. If a bass detects a hunk of metal, it will likely spit it out. That's why you will often have more success with a lure or bait that is gummy or otherwise imitates the feel of something natural like a fish or frog.
Still another good reason for using a fish attractant is that once the bass has your lure in it's mouth, "the scent and taste of the attractant will cause the fish to hold the lure in its mouth longer," says Russ Bassdozer, "rather than taste an unadulterated DEET, PVC plastic and L-Serine cocktail and spit it out." This will allow you a couple extra seconds to detect the bass on the end of your line and to set the hook.
OK, I saved the best for last.
Here's a bass fishing technique that will provoke a bass to attack your lure ferociously! As you know, bass see in color, and some colors are more effective than others depending on various factors. But when a bass sees a bit of red on your lure, it really drives a bass crazy. That's because a little red on your lure looks to the bass like the blood of injured prey! It's not surprising that pro bass fishermen will often attach something red to their bait that resembles blood. Adding a sploch of red can double the effectiveness of your lure.
Conversion Van Camping Advice
Conversion van Camping doesn't give you the luxury of life in an RV, nor the discomfort of sleeping in a tent. It can be tough to safely heat a van at night, but it's cheap compared to an RV, and you can go places they cannot. We spent more than 25 nights sleeping in our conversion van last year.
Life In A Conversion Van
Make your van into something that's useable for you, especially if it's going to be your residence for days or weeks at a time. For my wife and I, this meant having space to move around. We took out the two middle seats which, I convinced Ana, would be good armchairs for the living room. Then we had enough space for dressing or cooking. The bench-seat in back folds out into a comfortable bed, so we were all set for Camping.
When traveling, you need a system of organization to keep your space inside the van livable. After our first long trip, we noticed the many things we never used. We got more efficient after that. We're also able to keep the space open, despite carrying many things, by using plastic storage tubs you can buy almost anywhere. They stack well, and if you need more room at night, you can put them on the roof. They're rainproof with the lids snapped on.
Heating A Conversion Van
Camping in a van can be cold at times, as it was for us in the deserts of Arizona last winter. We started the van and cranked up the heater once in a while, but only for brief periods. The danger of carbon monoxide poisoning is just too great to leave the car running while you are sleeping.
We also cooked to heat up the van. Our propane camp stove burned very clean. Any time it was cold, it was time to cook dinner, breakfast, or tea. This heated up the van nicely. Again, because of carbon monoxide, I wouldn't recommend ever sleeping with a propane burner going. Still, sometimes a quick warm-up is all you need before you crawl under the blankets for the night.
The secret to heating a conversion van when camping is to give up. Enjoy meal time warm-ups, but unless you have electric power, I don't know of a safe way to heat a van all night. Instead, you can heat yourselves. Wear warm clothing. Bring more blankets than you think you'll need. Prepare a thermos bottle full of hot coffee each night, so it will be waitng for you in the morning. You get to warm the van when you make it, and warm up yourselves drinking it for breakfast.
Advantages Of Conversion Van Camping
Traveling and camping in a conversion van costs less than in an RV. The initial cost is a lot less if you buy used, as we did, and the cost of driving it is substantialy less. We averaged 18 miles per gallon on our last cross-country trip. Most recreational vehicles are lucky to get half of that, and they're very expensive to maintain.
Compared with tent camping, a van is much more comfortable. Even if you backpack, you are probably going to drive some kind of car to wherever you go. With a van, you can come inside if it starts to rain. If you're backpacking a long way from home, you can save on motels on the drive to and from the trailhead.
Camping can be more comfortable in an RV, but not in all ways. It's nice, for example, to park anywhere. We've taken naps in parking lots, and nobody was the wiser, thanks to tinted windows, curtains, and the inconspicuousness of a van. At a free campground in Florida we got the best spot, on a bank overlooking Lake Talquin, because our van was small enough to fit there, unlike most of the RVs.
It's great to be able to drive anywhere. In the conversion van, camping wherever we are when it gets dark is no problem. Finally, some larger RVs drag a car around because the big rig just isn't practical for daily driving. Our coversion van is a second home AND our primary vehicle for shopping or going to work. That's flexibilty.

Wilson Island On The Great Barrier Reef Is The Perfect Honeymoon Vacation Resort
If your perfect honeymoon resort has to be on a tiny coral cay, and it has to be an Australia Honeymoon Package on the Great Barrier Reef, then Wilson Island should tick all the right boxes. It is surrounded by a pristine coral reef and quite the loveliest of beaches.
If you have spent any time in Africa on safari and stayed in a tented camp, then the accommodation on Wilson Island will not be unfamiliar to you, except this is real five star luxury Camping, all inclusive, with food that is just out of this world, and a fantastic wine cellar.
When people think of Camping, have never been on a camping safari or stayed at Wilson Island they have this idea of sleeping bags and poles, and leaks and cold water showers.
Wilson Island is the perfect Honeymoon Vacation resort, because when they talk Tents what they mean is six permanent Tents all looking out over the reef and the ocean designed with the guests ultimate comfort in mind.
All of the tents have raised timber floors, King size beds with Duvets, Bedside Tables, Battery operated bedside lights, deck chairs, bathrobes, bath towels, beach towels, toiletries, and daily housekeeping seRVice.
The only drawback is that because of the fact that Wilson Island uses solar power, all the hot showers are in the central amenities building, where each tent has its own private designated area.
So what will you do on Wilson Island as your perfect honeymoon resort.
The short answer is little or nothing, but you could cheerfully snorkel right off the beach where you will see some fantastic fish, and perhaps even a turtle as well.
You could just lie in a hammock and be lazy, or you can walk round the island, picnic on the beach, and end up watching the sunset drinking champagne, or the sunrise with a hot cup of coffee and biscuits.
Wilson is that kind of place, probably idyllic for three or four days with no mobile phone coverage, no children, no television, just the birds, and the crashing of the sea to listen to.
If you are able to entertain yourself, and you don’t mind the unorthodox toilet arrangements, or a communal dinner party atmosphere in the evenings, then Wilson Island could be the perfect honeymoon resort.

RV Camping
RV Camping can make for a great trip almost anywhere, but I think it is best in the west. In many areas, you can just drive into the desert, and stay free for up to two weeks. It's true of most BLM (Bureau Of Land Management) and national forest lands, and many state forest lands too. You have to move every two weeks, but how far is open to interpretation, and mostly yours will be accepted.
Long Term RV Camping on BLM Land
RV camping, or "boondocking" is growing in popularity. In fact, the BLM has begun to establish special areas for longer stays, particularly in Arizona. A permit fee is around $140 now, but this allows you to stay up to six months, and you get pump stations, dumpsters and water. People are living in some of these areas. It's cheaper than paying property taxes or rent for a lot to park on.
RV camping is common in Winter in Arizona. One of the largest gatherings of "boondockers" is in Quartzite. Several hundred thousand people spend at least part of the year in their RVs here. It's near the California border, on Interstate 10, only 20 miles from the Colorado River. Surrounded by BLM lands, Quartzite is famous for gem shows, swap meets, and the multiplying of its population each winter.
If you ask around when you are in the desert southwest, you'll find there are RV communities that form every winter. Some of these temporary towns like "Slab City" in California, have bookstores, grocery vendors, and other businesses run by RVers. Once summer returns, these boondock communities disappear, and reappear again the following winter.
Other RV Camping Opportunities
Just look around, and you'll find "hidden" places where you can park your RV for a week or a month in the desert southwest. Some are inexpensive, other's free. The Hot Well Dunes Recreation Area, for example, north of Bowie, Arizona, costs $3 per night, and has nice hotsprings and plenty of wildlife. An annual permit costs $30, but you're limited to two weeks per month (permits are sold at the BLM office in Safford). You can stay outside the fenced area free, but then you don't get the hotsprings and shaded picnic tables.
For information on other areas, contact the Bureau of Land Management. They can tell you what's available under their jurisdiction. Also, the Woodall's campground guide lists campgrounds that are free. Keep your eyes open for other RVs parked out in the desert or forest. Finally, ask around. Other RVers will give you the best information on RV camping.
How to Make a Ghillie Suit - 8 Easy Steps
A Ghillie Suit, or also referred to as a Yowie Suit is a type of camouflage clothing designed to resemble heavy underbrush. It is typically constructed from a net or cloth garment, which itself is made up of loose strips of cloth mixed with real or artificial twine, leaves and twigs. Hunters and snipers understand the importance of being completely camouflaged. In many situations, the effectiveness of their uniform's ability to blend into their wildlife surroundings may be a life or death situation.
The Ghillie Suit provides excellent concealment in some of nature's harshest natural environments.
STEP 1:
Choose a plain suit to start your Ghillie Suit. This will probably be the easiest part. What suit should I choose? You can choose a jacket and pants or you can use a mechanic suit or flight suit. We have found that a flight suit is better, but the choice is up to you. Your other options include:
Purchasing an Expensive Suit - These will probably have some good coverage of camouflage and will be basic in nature.
STEP 2:
Sew knots of netting to the fabric with transparent thread like fishing line. Apply a drop of glue for extra strength.
STEP 3:
Tie groups of 5 to 10 strands of jute to the netting with simple knots. Use various colors.
STEP 4:
Season the webbing by dragging it behind a vehicle, soaking it in mud, or applying manure. Doing this will reduce and eliminate the human scent, especially important if you will be using this Ghillie Suit for Hunting.
STEP 5:
Camouflaged Sniper
Gather items from the environment you plan to use you Ghillie Suit in. For example: If your in a wooded area attach small branches and leaves to the upper half of the suit and feather it to the bottom with items such as grass or twigs.
STEP 6:
Now, attach more items to the back of the suit. Sneaking up on prey or your enemy while wearing your Ghillie Suit, is usually done by crawling on your stomach. We put items on your back because items on your stomach will either get damaged, make noise or both.
STEP 7:
Attach wider items around your head and neck. The human head is the most commonly identified part of the body. The shoulders and neck exaggerate the head. When standing still, your outline must be broken to prevent easy identification.
STEP 8:
Be aware of your setting as it changes. If your environment doesn't change from Point a to Point B, your Ghillie Suit will be fine. But if the environment changes you will have to incorporate materials of the various settings while your moving.

Carp Fishing Bait Secrets of Homemade Shrimp Paste and Readymade Boilies!
When I got into carp baits much more around 1980 shrimp meal was a very popular ingredient. It seems that many people had not figured out the link with krill, or lobster or abalone etc for that matter, but shrimp was all the rage and was used in fish meal based baits mainly. But most of the carp anglers I spoke to about this either had no clue why shrimp was effective or had some kind of vague idea such as it has something to do with what it contains, like pigments, polysaccharides, salts and amino acids and the like. However what these did once inside a fish was certainly not a subject for discussion primarily because hardly anglers really knew. But this aspect of bait is absolutely worth its weight in gold and I have found out very much of this not that I will explain here, but I will provide for readers newer to baits a few useful ideas to boost the performance of their baits!
Belachan is a fermented shrimp paste made in parts of Asia for many culinary applications to massively improve taste and palatability of dishes among other things; this should be no surprise as it is has a high salts content. It was a much whispered-about secret additive known only to the priveleged few in decades past. The CC Moore European product version in powdered form is also available (apart from Belachan block for example.) This Belechan style powder is an extremely useful additive indeed for boosting the levels and concentrations of feeding triggers and attractors in your readymade baits base mixes and in homemade dips and soaks and it is very soluble in a wide range of solutions. Bearing in mind that this is simply one example and all you need to do is think a little to produce baits that your fish will not be very familiar with. All it takes is a little imagination to come up with spicy shrimp pellets, spicy shrimp-boosted meat baits and boosted hemp, nuts, pulses, crushed seeds and many natural baits and so on - all to great effect I might add!
Obviously making baits using highly soluble additives and ingredients is very stimulating to me because they are very stimulating to fish - and are they are usually easily digested too which in cooler water is especially important of course to maximise the potential of baits for even more bites and fish caught. To make a very simply soft paste you have endless options so this is just one suggestion of a concentrated bait. All you do is mix your Belachan block with boiling water to make a dense slurry and mix this with the milk powder called Vitamealo. It will take quite a volume of Vitamealo to form a stiff paste but believe me it is well worth making and using! Put this paste into a glass of cold water and watch what happens.
This paste is very soluble although less so in colder water but is absolutely ideal for cold spring conditions. If you wish to make your paste more resilient again many options are available. You might mix your Vitamealo with whole egg powder, blood powder, caseins, maize meal, tiger nut flour, semolina, or CLO for example. Stiffened paste with a reasonable level of more insoluble ingredients with egg powder for instance makes effective boilies too although steaming baits instead of boiling them is preferable to maximise their nutritional attraction - intact! Now you know how to impregnate your readymade baits with shrimp and how to make a homemade shrimp boilie why not go for it and find out more?! (Revealed in my unique big carp and catfish homemade bait and readymade bait secrets ebooks is far more powerful information - see my unique website Baitbigfish and my biography for details right now!)

Choose An Outdoor Barbecue Grill
Outdoor barbecues are popular all around the world. They are enjoyed for the camaraderie as well as delicious eating. Barbecues can be informal family get togethers or tough culinary competitions.
There is one thing they all have in common though, and that is the need for an outdoor barbecue grill.
The outdoor barbecue grill has a cooking surface that is composed of metal bars. The bars are mounted above the fuel source which puts out intense heat with temperatures in the 500 degree Fahrenheit range. This intense heat is the distinctive feature of grilling.
Just as there are many types of outdoor barbecues, there are also many types of barbecue grills. The two most commonly used are the gas grill and the charcoal grill. They come in various shapes and sizes with a variety of features.
These types of grills are easy to obtain and can be purchased at most shopping centers. Let’s take a look at these two types of outdoor barbecue grills.
Gas Barbecue Grills
Just like the name suggests, the gas barbecue grill uses gas for a power source. This type of grill is typically more expensive than the charcoal grill. Fuel for it is fairly inexpensive and readily available. It is easy to set up and even easier to get it ready for cooking. Just light it and place your meat on.
They don’t make much smoke at all but the flames will flare up, therefore care must be taken when choosing a safe location for your grill. The temperature can be easily controlled which is a nice feature and makes cooking easier.
Charcoal Barbecue Grills
Charcoal barbecue grills are the cheapest grills you can buy. You can get a small table top model or a larger one which stands on its own base. They are easy to put together but sometimes are not very stable. The drawback to charcoal grills is that you have to allow heat up time for your charcoal to become ready to cook over.
Sometimes getting the charcoal to catch fire isn’t easy either and requires the use of lighter fluid or starter, which ads an element of fire danger. Charcoal barbecue grills are probably not for you if you need to prepare meals in a hurry or need a consistent cooking temperature.
Charcoal grills create smoke and have flames which flare up and should be placed in a safe location and never used indoors. This type of outdoor grill can be messy to clean up after cooking also.
However, charcoal grills are extremely popular and are easy to transport which makes them the logical choice for Camping trips and the occasional outdoor barbecue.

Equipment you will need :
- Boat
- Good Set of Boat Anchors
- 12v Auxiliary Power System
- External Night Lights
- Underwater Lighting
- Live Bait Keeper
- System For Chumming
- Boat Rod Holders
- Heavy Bait Casting Or Spinning Rig
- Insect Repellent
Once you have tried Night Fishing For catfish you will be hooked for life. Trust me If you do it correctly you will catch fish, not only will you catch fish but some will be lunkers! Catfish feed at night and are very active, and when they get into a feeding frenzy fishing action can be incredible! Catfish have a very keen sense of smell and are attracted underwater fishing lighting. So If you can locate their nightly haunts you can entice them on to your hook with some simple methods I will explain here. Before I explain these methods in detail, there are some basic night fishing setups we need to address. Fishing at night is a totally different ball game then fishing during the day.
How To Set Your Boat Up For Night Fishing
Before you even think about going night fishing for catfish you need to have the following items:, External Lights to attach inside the boat ,either battery or Coleman fuel type lanterns with two mantles. Distribute your lanterns evenly through out your boat. I personally fish from a 20 foot pontoon and I have 3 halogen battery powered lights hung 2in the front, left and right and one hanging from my canopy in the rear. (You could replace battery powered lights with propane lights, just remember the propane lights attract a ton of insects)
I also recommend you purchase a small light you clip on the visor of a ball cap. This small light comes in handy when you are re-rigging your fishing poles. Trust me , no matter how prepared you are before your trip you will loose some tackle, from line crossovers, or snags, or fish snapping your line. (you can limit this by using heavy tackle and making sure your line is fresh) I personally use a led light that clips to the visor on my ball cap.
You also will need a light to illuminate the water surface. I recommend 12v halogen light that can be directed outside the boat. Mount it on the side of your boat, in the center. I personally use and adjustable halogen that I can clip to the railing on my pontoon. Direct the light at a 60 degree angle from boat to water. This will illuminate the surface.
You will need a underwater fishing light source. Of all your night fishing for catfish lighting sources this one is the most important. The underwater fishing lights will attract bait fish by the hundreds, and I am sure you already know the baitfish attract the cats. The reason the underwater fishing lights attract bait fish is because they generate what is called a plankton swirl, of which the baitfish feed from. You will be amazed how fast the big catfish will come and position themselves around the bait fish ball generated for the submerged fishing lights. Submerged lighting rigs come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The one I use is 36" long about 4" in diameter. You want to place your underwater fishing light in the center of the light pattern that you surface light is generating. Anchor your submerged lighting about 12 " off the bottom, (without an anchor they will float on top of the water).. make sure the light completely submerged under the water. I recommend you use a 5lb weight as an anchor. If possible, anchor the submerged light about 2 to 3 ft from the boat.
You will need a secondary power source for the submerged light, surface light and the power source to operate your bait aerator. "do not use your boats power source" This will drain your battery."you don't want to get stuck on the lake at night right? If you take a well charged 12v marine battery as your second source it will last through the night.
You will need all Your poles pre-rigged If you have the rigs I would set up 3 poles , per person in advance of getting on the water. Rigging tackle at night can be a real pain the butt , and you want to have your poles in the water as much as possible. You will end up doing it anyway , but if you have spare poles already set up, use them first before you have waist valuable time with poles out of the water.
Locating the cat's nightly haunts
Pre-planning your night fishing trip is a must for a successful night. Every body of water is different when it comes to catfish habitat locations, but it has been my experience, that in any body of water the bigger cats roam the shore lines or back waters in search of food at night. I highly recommend you do some research on the body of water you intend to night fish for catfish on. At Minimum Get a topographical map of the area before you attempt your trip. These can be attained at any of the local bait and tackle shops in the area. (I recommend you visit one of these shops to get the local scoop anyway, if you dig deep enough these guys can pin point on the map Where to start fishing. This will save you lots of time.)
Arousing The Catfish's Senses For A Better Catch.
Once you have your water surface lights and your submerged lights set up and ready to go you don't even need to do the next step, you are ready to start fishing. The submerged lighting will get the schools of bait fish coming , but I take it step one step further because if you play on the catfish's extra sensitive sense of smell you can drive the Big cats into a feeding frenzy! Ok You say how?
Chumming will perk any catfish's keen sense of smell, it can actually drive the catfish crazy because they are a curious fish by nature and because they are constantly foraging for food at night. "Chumming" releases a slick of dead fish smells and particles of fish guts that both the catfish and baitfish feed on. I use a simple very in-expense and easy to setup method of chumming. You can also purchase commercial chumming systems that you can set up. First you will need a nylon netted bag that you can close tight. (a good example would the netted bags that you put golf balls in that have a string closure adjustment) This is what I use, works perfect , very inexpensive.Get yourself some good size freezer bags, at least 3 for a one night fishing for catfish trip.
Next, Purchase about 2 dozen good size chubs or cut up some other fish like small bluegill, and cut them in 1" to 2" slices, make sure you do this in a pan that will not drain all the juices. Fill the freezer bags pieces and juice all together, and let them sit outside in the sun all day long. Yes it will stink to high heaven by the end of the day, but that is what you want! Now stick the freezer bag in side the meshed bag that can close. Close the bag tight and tie a line at the bottom of the bag about 2 feet long. Attach about a 2lb anchor to get the bag to the bottom . Now tie a line at the top of the bag with enough lead line to get the bag on the bottom. Now before you lower the chum bag to the bottom take an ice pick, or something sharp that will puncture the bag , but not tear the plastic. Punch the freezer bag numerous times, then lower to the bottom an tie it off on the side of the boat.
Lets re-visit your catfish rigs, there are many setups you can use, i will mention a few that i use on a regular basis. Your rigs do not need to be setup for long casting, keep in mind you will be placing your line only a few feet away from the boat, at the edge of your underwater fishing light source.
Since you are going to be fishing only a few feet from the boat make sure your rigs have only enough weight to get your line to the bottom. Slip bobber set ups work well also.
my preference is a single hook tight line or slip bobber rig, both work fine , but single hook is just my preference. When I fish for other species of fish I will use a double hook rig but not when I am fishing at night for catfish. I use all heavy duty, open face , and spin cast rod and reels with 30lb test. I use a heavy test line because you never know when you will hook into a monster catfish when you are night fishing. You miss some smaller cats, but it's well worth it when you catch your first 10lb plus catfish.

Child Labor in Philippines
The term Child Labor means illegally employing children who are less than 18 years of age in dangerous and life threatening activities. Poverty is the main reason due to which children under the age of 18 years are compelled to work in dangerous and life threatening conditions. In Philippines there are about 2.06 million children who are forced to work in rock quarries, farms, industries, mines and on fishing boats. The consequences of Child Labor on an underage child can be numerous and crippling on his or her physical, mental and emotional state. It can seriously hamper the well being of a child who is supposed to get a sound education and nutrition to develop into a healthy adult. Due to Child labor these children end up being malnutritioned, weak and can also suffer from a large number of ailments.
The percentage of young people in Philippines between the age of five and seventeen is about 33 percent of its total population which comes to about 22.4 million. This is a large number considering that Philippines is a young nation. Between the ages of 5 to 7 years, one in every six children has to work to earn a living and help support his or her family. This astounding fact tells us that around sixteen percent of young children in Philippines are working. Child Labor is prevalent in mining, production, farming, and deep sea fishing industries and many children are also working as domestic workers.
The most common industry where child labor is practiced in Philippines is Deep-sea fishing. About forty years ago the sea around Philippines was plentiful of fish, the fishermen could make a tremendous catch just along the shore. Sadly that is not the case now as fishermen need to go miles into the sea to get a decent catch which will get them a day's meal. Many a times they need to use cyanide, dynamites and nets to able to catch a good amount of fish. There are many fishermen who use young boys to help them catch the fish, who quite unfortunately die while fishing, due to hazardous practices.
An illegal method of fishing called Muro Ami which is used frequently in Philippines is the most common form of Child labor prevalent today. In this method the young child dives down to deep depths of the sea. He carries with him a rock or a pipe which he uses to beat the delicate corals so that the huge number of fishes living in them get startled and are driven into large nets waiting to catch them. Many a times these young children drown and lose their lives. This inhuman practice has also destroyed the beautiful coral reefs surrounding Philippines.
Paaling is another fishing practice which is as widespread and life threatening as Muro Ami. A hose is connected to a surface air compressor and the young diver dives into the sea and drives hordes of fish into waiting nets with the help of a virtual bubble curtain formed by the compressor. Many agencies are now working together to abolish the inhuman practice of child labor and provide a safe and healthy environment for the children to grow in.

Getting Hooked on Bass Fishing
Companies have been riding the crest of bass fishing interest for decades now. The hobby has "hooked" many people, and they have elevated this onetime recreational activity to a legitimate sport. Outdoors shops, gear and even businesses have been built in that time, and many other peripheral areas have benefited.
More and more people are starting to realize what the buzz is all about today. The sport of bass fishing is about a whole lot more then just netting a bass. With tournaments, growing in popularity, it's become more and more about landing that perfect trophy bass. To someone who is just starting out, it can seem overwhelming.
Probably the very first thing to cover is some of the lures that are vital to your success in bass fishing.
Any idea what some of the best lures for landing trophy bass might be? While there isn't any particular scientific method applied to this, an informal poll was taken of many of the professional bass fisherman, and they determined that plastic worms seemed to be the number one choice among the pros, followed up closely by spinner bait and crank bait.
Often times however, you have to dig a little deeper for the right lure. There are a number of other things you need to consider. First off, if you think it might be better to work a smaller area of water or if you want to very quickly work a larger body of water, then a plastic worm isn't going to cut it. The use of worms is a more time consuming process, and they tend to work best when you find bass that are running in schools. That of course takes time.
The other area where you can sometimes run into a problem with plastic worms is with strikes. Plastic worms require the use of a fairly heavy sinker to get them far enough under the water to be useful. However, the weight of the sinker can sometimes cause you to not feel a bass strike when it happens.
Conversely, spinner bait can be moved about much more quickly across the surface of the water. You can temporarily bounce it on the bottom, and move it in ways that mimic a live insect, and influence bass to strike. Spinner bait is also an effective lure for the shoreline due to its tangle free design.
Finally, crank bait can also cover a wide area of water in a short period of time. This also helps out with investigating a specific area in a brief amount of time. If you can't find the schooling bass in the water, this may be your next best bet.
The main idea to pull from all of this is that, whatever type of lure you decide to use, wherever you have decided to cast your line, you absolutely must make it as easy as possible for the bass to see the lure, and strike it. Fish have limited visual abilities, but can sense distance very well. The closer you put your lure to the bass, the more likely they are to make a strike.
This is the single biggest key to successful bass fishing - learn the characteristics of your lures very well, and everything else will fall neatly into place.
Before we wrap up, let's quickly discuss exactly when you should be out on the water for maximum effectiveness.
Fish tend to go deep into cooler waters when the sun is in the sky, and they are considerably less active. This makes the times just before sunrise, and just after sunset the absolute best times of the day to pull in the highest number of fish.
One thing to keep in mind though...when fishing during these times, be sure to being your lure in at a steady pace. With poor lighting adding to their limited vision, it becomes even more imperative that the bass can consistently sense the bait so he has the opportunity to strike it.
Finally, if you are going to be out at dawn or dusk, make sure the temperature is over 50 degrees. Same as being too warm, bass will become much more lethargic when the ambient air temperature drops below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
With a solid understanding of the proper time of day to fish, and the proper bait to use to catch them, you're already ahead of many anglers who have been at this for years. There is much more to learn, such as the way that weather effects bass activity, and water quality and purity, but that will come later. For now, go have fun and bring home your limit!

Before you even think about going night fishing for catfish you need to have the following items:, lights for inside the boat ,either battery or Coleman fuel type lanterns with two mantles. Set up your lights so they distribute light evenly inside the boat. I personally fish from a 20 foot pontoon and I have 3 halogen battery powered lights hung 2in the front, left and right and one hanging from my canopy in the rear. (I have used my Coleman Lanterns but they attract a huge amount of insects)
You also will need a secondary light on your person. This light is used for re-rigging your fishing poles. Trust me , no matter how prepared you are before your trip you will loose some tackle, from line crossovers, or snags, or fish snapping your line. (you can limit this by using heavy tackle and making sure your line is fresh) I personally use a led light that clips to the visor on my ball cap.
You also will need a light to illuminate the water surface I recommend 12v halogen light that can be directed outside the boat. Mount it on the side of your boat, in the center. I personally use and adjustable halogen that I can clip to the railing on my pontoon. Direct the light at a 60 degree angle from boat to water. This will illuminate the surface.
You will need a submerged light source. You are probably asking your self right now why do I need submerged lighting? The submerged lights will generate plankton swirls that will attract bait fish. Once the bait fish start schooling The big cats will come. attract schools Submerged lighting rigs come in a variety of sizes and shapes, the one I use is 36" long about 4" in diameter. Center the submerged light in the illumination pattern of the surface water lighting you just set up. Anchor your submerged lighting about 12 " off the bottom, (without an anchor they will float on top of the water).. make sure the light completely submerged under the water. I recommend you use a 5lb weight as an anchor. If possible, anchor the submerged light about 2 to 3 ft from the boat.
You will need a secondary power source for the submerged light, the water illumination light and to operate your aerator pump for your live bait or live well."do not use your boats power source" This will drain your battery."you don't want to get stuck on the lake at night right? If you take a well charged 12v marine battery as your second source it will last through the night.
You will need all Your poles pre-rigged If you have the rigs I would set up 3 poles , per person in advance of getting on the water. The reason I suggest this is because it's real pain the "blank" To re-rig at night. You will end up doing it anyway , but if you have spare poles already set up, use them first before you have waist valuable time with poles out of the water.
Locating the cat's nightly haunts
It has been my experience the bigger cat's roam the shore lines or back waters in search of food at night. Every body of water will be different.
Enticing the Cats to your boat.
Well the answer is by introducing "chumming".Chumming releases a slick of dead fish smells and fish guts that the small bait fish and catfish feed on. There are many commercial chumming systems you can purchase and they work very well, but I use a simple very inexpensive method that anyone can set up. First you will need a nylon netted bag that you can close tight. (a good example would the netted bags that you put golf balls in that have a string closure adjustment) This is what I use, works perfect , very inexpensive. Next , get some good size freezer bags, 3 should do for one nights trip. Next , Purchase about 2 dozen good size chubs and cut them in 1" to 2" slices, make sure you do this in a pan that will not drain all the juices.
Now its time to fish! But before we go there lets re-visit Your catfish rigs. There are many catfish rigs you can use, and they all work in situations they are designed for. When you are fishing at night and you have submerged a lighting setup ,you want get your line about 2 ft away from the light source, approximated on the outer edges of the source's beam. You will be fishing only a short distance from the boat, so your rigs need to be set up to fish in close proximity to the boat. You could fish tight line with a basic catfish hook and a small sinker. Or use a slip bobber system. I prefer to use the slip bobber system. I use the single hook rig. But both single and multiple hook rigs work fine. I just have preference for the single hook rig. I do use the double hook rig when fishing for other types of fish. I use all heavy duty, open face , and spin cast rod and reels with 30lb test. When you do get a lunker on your line you want the tackle set up to handle the fight. You miss some smaller cats, but it's well worth it when you catch your first 10lb plus catfish.
Baits To Use
Both Channel and Blue catfish will eat just about any small fish like Suckers, small shad, or bluegills both live or dead. I use both live bait and dead "cut bait" I will normally set one pole up with a small live gill no more that 3 inches in length. My other poles will be baited with cut bait , normally LARGE suckers 6" or longer cut in 1" to 2" chunks.
