Build A Wireless Signal Booster For Your RV
The wife and I live full time in our RV and we move around a lot. Most of the RV parks we stay in offer wireless but a great deal of them don't offer GREAT wireless. If you aren't parked pretty close to the "clubhouse" or "office", where they frequently host their wireless signal broadcaster, you might get such a weak signal that you can't connect at all.
One solution, and an easy one that frequently works, is to acquire an external antenna for your laptop. They are fairly cheap (less than $40 at Walmart), and install easily by plugging into a USB port. They also self-configure for the most part. Cisco makes one called the "Valet" that is super easy to use. I also have a Linksys N USB device that is fairly easy to use, and although it's a little more pricey ($80) it has better reception with 2 external antennas of its own.
But sometimes even that won't do the job. In my "box of tricks" that I packed when we moved into the rig, I have a couple of wireless routers. One of them is a Linksys WRT350N. For this configuration, the factory firmware (or operating system) doesn't have the configurability or performance, so I replaced it with the latest firmware from DD-WRT (http://www.dd-wrt.com). They have an extensive Wiki, accessible from their homepage, on how to get the free download and install or "flash" it onto the router. Once you get dd-wrt installed, the rest is pretty simple. Unless you want to get fancy and install a 36" external mast antenna on the outside of your rig. In that case, you could probably get a signal from a Starbucks up to ½ mile away and just use that, it's free! Visit my wireless BFF at www.nyetech.com/services/rv-wireless-repeater.htm.
Power up the router and connect to the default SSID (dd-wrt) with your laptop. Then log into the router using your browser at the default IP address 192.168.1.1. The default admin UID is "root", and the default admin password is "admin". All of these things can be reconfigured by you, of course, just remember to remember them or you will have to use the "factory reset" button on the back to wipe them out and start all over. There are 2 parts to the configuration: setting up the router as a repeater; setting up the "rig" side of the network. In your basic setup, found on the Setup tab of the router UI, you should have your Connection Type set to "DHCP", STP set to "Enable", the router name is your choice (I use "repeater"), the Host Name is your choice (I user "repeater"), Domain Name is your choice (I leave it blank), MTU is set to "Auto", change the Local IP Address to a unique number, different than the network you want to repeat, for instance 192.168.69.1, and the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0. Then save the settings, the router will reboot. You will need to then point your browser to the new IP address you selected (in this example http://192.168.69.1). Log back into the router UI.
Go to the Security tab, sub-tab "Firewall". UNCHECK ALL CHECK BOXES and set SPI Firewall to "Disable". Save the settings by clicking "Apply". Go to the Wireless tab, sub-tab "Basic Settings". Set Wireless Mode to "Repeater". On "Wireless Physical Interface" set Wireless Network Name (SSID)" to the network you wish to repeat (the park network). Set Network Configuration to "Bridged". Click "Save Settings" so that you will be able to see the "Virtual Interfaces" section. Click on "Add" under "Virtual Interfaces" and enter an SSID for your new "rig" network, for instance "rignetwork". Check to see that the Set Wireless Channel is set to "Auto", although you can optionally set this to any channel if you dare. Also, if the host access point (the park network) is set to "G Only", then your Wireless Network Mode must be set the same or you won't be able to connect. For most applications it can be set to "Mixed". Optionally, you can set the Wireless SSID Broadcast to "Auto" (I do if I enable security) or "Off" (if you don't want to use passwords and don't want anyone else grabbing your signal). AP Isolation is "Disabled" and Network Configuration is "Bridged". Save the settings (or "Apply").
You can now connect from your laptops to the router. If the host network (the park network) requires a passcode for their security, you will be asked to enter it the first time you access, but it should be stored in your repeater from then on.
There are a number of ways to expand on this configuration and to add extra bells and whistles (dynamic signal detect and connect for instance). You can find some other information with pictures at http://www.campersmotorhomesonline.com/articles, and DD-WRT has a wealth of information on router configuration, include repeater profiles, at their Wiki site http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Universal_Wireless_Repeater.

The Minimum Outdoor Camping Gear You Need
Summer camp is coming soon. Outdoor Camping requires good cooking gear. Camping gear like Tents, bags and or foods are basic. You should also bring waterproof storm jackets. You should use the summer for more camping activities. Read this article to get more camping ideas.
If you are planning to have an outdoor adventure, you need to be prepared with your outdoor camping gear. It is not necessary to bring everything from your kitchen and bedroom to have a comfortable condition. All you need to have is the suRVival gear.
Depending on your adventure, you can have hiking gear and camping and hunting gear. For all outdoor adventures, you will need the essentials including footwear, clothing, backpacks, camping Tents, campground cooking tools and accessories.
Most outdoor foot wear is camping boots and trekking and hiking shoes. For serious hikers and campers, REI has high-end products for backpacking boots. You can also check out the hiking shoes of The Walking Company for good options, if you are an enthusiast of urban treks. Most shoes of The Walking Company ensure comfort.
Clothes are very important outdoor camping gear, because it can be cold at night when you are on highlands like mountain tops or hill tops. Be sure to bring with you a waterproof storm jacket. Check out Patagonia, Moosejaw and Backcountry.
Eastern mountain sports make quality backpack. Their products include daypacks, hydration packs and multi-day packs. Backpacks need to be durable because they hold and keep valuables. Camping tents provide shelter and protection for you when you are outdoors.
You will be shielded against the scorching heat of the sun, the pouring rain, and the rushing wind. Tents keep you guarded from pests like mosquitoes, noseeums and flies. They also protect your valuables like camp gear.
Outdoor camping gear would not be complete without your cooking tools. Whether you love cooking, preparing raw foods or opening canned goods, you will need to use fire. In most camp sites, a separate ground for cooking is prepared.
Be sure to bring a bag of charcoal, spatula, propane stove, few pots, skillet and you will never be hungry. You can bring meat for steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches. Among the camping accessories that you will need are the sleeping bags, compass and maps. You can also bring GPS.
Compass and maps are particularly important for people who visit a site for the first time or when there is no tour guide to provide directions. GPS devices are among the outdoor camping gear that is a product of technology innovation to make camping more convenient.
Sleeping bags and pads will not make you miss your bed at home. You will not have to sleep on hard ground as you can use cushions. You can choose inflatable pads or closed-cell pads. You will place your sleeping bag on top of the pads.
If you are new to camping or hiking, you should choose summer as the ideal season for you. If such is the case, you will not need an expensive sleeping bag for your outdoor camping gear. A lightweight rectangular sleeping bag will be comfortable for you.
If it is too warm, sleeping on top of it with a sheet or blanket is recommended. Of course, you need to bring pillow and blankets for a good night sleep. Hiking or camping is more enjoyable when you have complete outdoor camping gear.

Apparel And Equipment In Sports, Fitness And Recreation
These days there are many big brands that cater to sports, fitness and recreation enthusiasts. Nike catapulted to number one when they hired basketball legend Michael Jordan to endorse for them because at the height of that advertising campaign everyone indeed wanted to be like Mike. They continued their reign and reinforced their being number one when they chose golf’s amazing newest star then Tiger Woods as another endorser.
Adidas is also another leading brand whose latest campaign celebrate originality showcased their collaborations some of the best designers in the world. These brands not only battle in coming up with innovative products, getting the more popular image model or launching award winning advertising campaigns but they even have their presence felt in the movie industry.
In 2000, the movie What Women Want starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt was a big hit. The story is about an advertising executive who one day woke up being able to read women’s minds. True, the actors and the plot make for a good movie but Nike gained so much from this movie.
There is no better way to present a new way of thinking in terms of women’s shoes that are great in all areas- sports, fitness and recreation. The movie explained the whole process that Nike had to go through to come up with one product. Just in case you are wondering, the Nike ad representatives in the movie were not actors they were really from Nike and that now Nike has an entire line for women simply called Nike Women.
Adidas, on the other hand, had Goal. Goal is the success story of this small town boy who made it big in the soccerlandia. While more subtle than Nike, the movie stressed that Adidas is number one in football. Nike can claim their throne in the world of basketball but soccer or football will always have Adidas as its number one shoes.
Sports equipments are more easygoing on their Ads, not much brouhaha, it is simply all about the quality of the equipment. Players sporting them are almost usually number one in their fields but they are not required to be as marketable as their apparel endorsers’ counterpart. The point being the best players in their respective fields uses us so if you decide to use as then you can end up number one as well. They are more scientific in their approach owing to details more than just the overall impact.

How To Prepare For Termite Treatment
As with any procedure that involves pesticides, termite tenting preparation is often considered dangerous, unnecessary, and outlandishly expensive, but the truth is that if your home has a bad termite problem, this may be the best option for you. By fumigating the structure with termite killing gas, it's a way to kill off any of the worker termites that are residing inside your home and can allow you to begin gaining control of a damaging situation.
What happens when you choose a termite tenting preparation for your structure? First, the structure is covered with a tarp or tent that is sealed and secure. You will have to stay out of the home for at least two to three days and be sure that all food products are inside sealed bags which the pest control company can usually provide for you. They will release the termite killing gas inside the structure and place fans inside to circulate the gas. Warning signs will be placed around your property to keep anyone outside of the structure while the gas is circulating and killing the termites.
On the second day of your termite tenting preparation, the tarp will be removed and the gas will be aired out of the home. On the third day, your pest control company will verify that all of the gas is removed from the home by using special instruments to gauge how much, if any gas is left. These instruments will determine if it is safe for you to come back into your home.
Many people are apprehensive about termite tenting preparation because of the use of the powerful gas used to kill the termites. While the gas can be lethal when breathed in in large doses, but it is actually safe once the home has been cleared by the pest control company. The gas that is used does not stick to surfaces, so it won't adhere to things like dishes, countertops, and furniture. Some people, however, choose to wipe down all exposed surfaces for piece of mind, and that's alright.
When you have a termite tenting preparation done to your home, it will kill all live termites inside the structure. It will not, however, kill the termite eggs that remain. However, when the baby termite eggs hatch, there will be no worker termites to feed them, so they will die off quickly. It is also important to have the area under your house treated as well to kill any subterranean termites that have taken up residence under your home. If you neglect this step of the procedure, you will risk re-infestation.
Termite tenting preparation for severe termite infestations can be a good way to get rid of your termites in one fell swoop. However, don't forget to formulate a follow-up plan with your pest control company to prevent those pesky insects from coming back!

Kenya Camping Safaris: Biribiriet, the haven for camping & nature addicts
The valley opens below. Cliffs and high valleys stand in the midst of a sky pregnant with moisture. The rains are about to come. We stop at the Kerio Tingwa Ecotourism Camping site for a stretch and to admire the beautiful landscape. We are on our way to Eldoret via the Eldama Ravine road and then to Chepkiit waterfall.
A map on the sign board points to the interesting features in the view. We can see Tongwoto caves, Tingwa hills at 2,700 meters and somewhere below are the Kabilet waterfalls and Kerio River. At the next viewpoint, we can see the white rug on the terrain of the Fluorspar mines.
It’s nearly midnight and we are Camping just off the turning from Biribiriet near Eldoret on the Eldoret-Kapsabet road .The night air is cold but stunningly revitalizing. This is the ultimate forest camping experience. The gurgle of the stream running at the bottom of the field, is inviting. The moon, hidden in the clouds, send a little light in the terrestrial grounds but our eyes have become accustomed to the darkness and we are no longer daunted by it. Instead, warmed by the camping fire, we are suddenly animated when somebody suggests a midnight walk with Beryl to the rivers edge in search of frogs! This may be my proverbial chance to kiss the frog and end up with prince charming, so I join in.
The trouble with frogs is that you get to see them more at night and so much of Beryl’s field work is stalking the wilds in the dark armed with torch and plastic bags to catch the jumping jacks.
We tread the grass softly so as not to frighten the amphibians. Ringed by the glow of the torch light, a tiny reed frog tenderly perches on a thin grass. It’s quite a piece of art, this delicate scene.’ That’s a reed frog,” Beryl says as our torches beam on many more in the shallow edges of Kipkeren River which thunders over the nearby Chepkiit waterfalls and onwards to Kingwal swamp. Many of the tiny water frogs are breeding and their throat sacs are ballooned enormously to call out female mates. It’s quite a busy little scene by the banks of the river. In contrast, the bigger grass frogs look quite monstrous and scary.
“Frogs are a good indicator of a clean environment “says Beryl.” Any disturbance of the water quality effects their populations. “There is no long term national data on the amphibians to compare the state of the environment or the diversity of frogs. Beryl is one of the few young Kenyan’s studying frogs.
It’s amazing. In the light of the following morning, where the scene was busy the night before, there is not a single frog to be seen. I take a leisurely stroll to a secluded water pool surrounded by massive rocks for a morning bath. The water is cool, the early morning clean and pure and the sky is lit with diverse colurs. The Ross’Turaco with its bright scarlet under wing has everybody taken ‘under its wing ‘it’s a bird of the old forests and quite rare to many birders.
This place is a find for camping nature lover groups. We are camping in this beautiful place surrounded by trees and open glades sandwiched between a picturesque Nandi homestead and the river overlooking a stone buff, all thanks to Mary, who has been researching in the vicinity for six years. “Everybody keeps running to coast for their holidays. They should come here for a once in a life time camping experience,” she says vehemently. “You won’t believe the number of stunning places like these.”
We lumbered early out of our camping gear and after the private bath in the rock pool and a leisurely breakfast, Mary gets us up on our feet again. This time, it’s a walk to the Chepkiit waterfall. There is so much to see walking through the glades of grass and forest, its like being in a wonderland.
The turacos awe us time and time again. The harrier hawk, glides to perch on a rock while the tiny leaf-loves and green doves fly about. Black and white casqued hornbills send noisy trumpets in flight while the graceful crowned cranes spread their feathers in elegant flight. There is life everywhere .Even on the rocks “I wonder what these are? “Mary asks as she kneels to gently touch the white straw-like threads weaving a pattern on the rocks. I have no idea either. Silk threads touch our bare faces as we walk the jungle part to the waterfall. Its sound reaches us faintly and we step over a border to see this most amazing scene of giant rocks and water and through the wide split in the gorge, a forest stretching into the horizon.
“This is Chepkiit waterfall,” announces Mary proudly. Everybody is bowled over and with a new lease to life; we explore the vistas, moving from rock to rock as the water crashes down. This water will flow on Yala swamp and finally into Lake Victoria.
“The Nandi area is very rich in bio-diversity,” says Mary.” There are lots of places like these.” What we need is to manage these places through researches that they are sufficiently protected.”
We visit the nearby homestead; Janet is busy with the usual house hold chores. The sheep and goats have been let out, the cows have had there morning drink at the river having to walk around the Tents, and the cooking is going on. Inside the kitchen, the hand-made stove is ablaze with the firewood, little escaping from the sides so as to make the most efficient use of the precious fuel. Above are the calabashes, adding a dash of deco in the earth walled kitchen. The ‘botet’ or calabashes are used to store ‘mursik’ the traditional sour milk of the Nandi. I buy a couple, not to store milk but as a small token of the place.
For more information on the area, you can email; Robert

Great Tips for Car Camping Enjoyment
Camping is one of my favorite activities and my favorite type of Camping is car camping. However, there are many other types of camping such as base camping, canoe camping, RV camping, tent trailer camping and back yard camping. Regardless of how you spend your time out of doors or how much time you spend out of doors, there is always more to learn. I have compiled an extensive list of camping tips and this installment is for car campers. Here are my favorite tips for getting the most out of your car camping experience.
Organize your gear before you go. The basic principle is to organize or categorize your gear by "when" and "how quickly" you will need it. When I get to the campsite, the first thing I do is prepare shelter. So my tent and shade awning are the easiest pieces of gear to get to.
Plan your campsite. Understand how vehicles, wind, sun and rain will enter the campsite. For example, if the wind is coming out of the west, you’ll probably want your tent and kitchen west of any campfire to reduce smoke nuisance.
Always have a first aid kit in camp. Everyone in camp should know where it is, have access to it and know how to use it. I keep mine in plain sight in my kitchen. If it’s locked in my truck, no one can get to it except me.
Every camp needs a shovel. I believe a shovel is the most important tool in camp. You’ll use it to manage your campfire, leveling sleeping spots and countless other uses. Don’t leave home without it.
What tent should you use? I recommend a tent that is bigger than you think you’ll need. If inclement weather sets in, you’ll have a spot out of the elements for reading and playing games. My tent is big enough for two people, two cots, two chairs and two dogs.
There is nothing wrong with having a checklist. Things frequently forgotten are: extra batteries, trash bags, kitchen towels, hats, reading material, sleeping pillows, hiking boots and pet food.
Your most important camping gear should always be on your body. Not in your pack, not in your tent or in your vehicle. Whenever you leave camp always have a watch, a whistle, a cell phone, a flashlight and a knife on your person.
Some neat tidbits I’ve picked up over the years are: a golf towel is perfect for hanging in your kitchen because it comes with a grommet, you can never have enough zip lock bags, you won’t find me camping without a flare it’s perfect for lighting wet firewood, my camp chairs have side tables attached to them, I pre-cook baked potatoes at home and warm them up in the camp fire, in good weather my hammock gets lots of use.
Car camping allows you to take virtually anything with you when you camp. But the most important of all is good company. Take along good friends and family. When you do, it doesn’t really matter if you have the best gear or the best techniques, the one thing you will have is the best of times. Use this information and you’ll Get It Right The First Time. Get Outdoors!

Having Coleman and Camp Chef cooking tools and equipments at your disposal will surely prove to be a good investment. With these, you can now throw an outdoor feast with a variety of great tasting meals. And to help you with this, here are some simple and easy-to-follow outdoor recipes that you can use.
Ground Pork With Corn And Vegetables
This delicious dish is a real eye candy with all its colorful presentation, and yet it is simple and easy to make. To get started, prepare your Camp Chef gas stove and cooking wares for frying. Melt about two to three spoons of butter and sauté crushed garlic and chopped white onions with it. Then add about a fourth kilo of ground pork and cook it until you could no longer see raw meat. Then add half a cup of corn grains and half a cup of mixed carrot cubes, radish cubes, and green peas. You can also experiment on other crunchy vegetables.
Chicken Burger Patties
For this dish, you can seRVe it as it is or with a burger bun. This makes it very versatile. To make chicken burger patties, you will need a kilo of ground chicken, about half a cup of starch, finely chopped carrots and onions, minced garlic cloves, salt and pepper, and three to four large eggs. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and form burger patties with it. Use your Camp Chef or Coleman Grill to cook the patties until they are well done.
Grilled Pork Stuffed Fish
For this kind of dish, you can use a whole salmon or any other similar fish. Remove the scales, fins, and the gills of the fish and clean it of its insides by making a straight cut on the belly and removing its gut and other organs. Then make sure that you thoroughly wash the fish. And for the stuffing, prepare tomatoes, chopped white onions, crushed garlic cloves, and ground pork.
Prepare your Camp Chef gas stove and cooking wares and sauté the tomatoes, onions, garlic, and ground pork. Then season it with salt, a spoon of soy sauce, and pork seasoning. Now stuff the belly of the fish with the sautéed ground pork and vegetables and wrap it in aluminum foil. Prepare your Coleman Grill and cook the fish until it is well done.
Barbecued Beef And Vegetables
This is another simple outdoor dish which is also health-friendly. For this recipe, you will need to prepare crunchy vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, onion rings, bell peppers, and corn. You can also experiment on other vegetables but they should be the crunchy kind. Then you will also need cubed slices of beef.
Marinate the cubed beef slices with a commercially bought barbecue marinade. Then skewer the beef cubes with barbecue sticks and do the same with the vegetables. Just make sure that you arrange the ingredients in an alternating sequence. Then prepare your Camp Chef or Coleman Grill and cook the barbecue until it is well done. You should also occasionally brush the barbecue with marinate mixture for added flavor and to avoid it from drying.
As you can see, these outdoor recipes are easy to make and does not require any expertise at all. And although these dishes are simple to simple to prepare, they will make a good addition to your outdoor cooking escapades.

Nova Scotia Campgrounds Offer A Peaceful Retreat: An Overview of Three Campgrounds in Nova Scotia
Canadian campgrounds in the Maritime provinces are gems for the Camping traveller. If they're not directly on the ocean, or a bay, or another waterway, they're usually conveniently close.
Both RV and tent campers love Nova Scotia's scenery and campgrounds. For RV campers, however, the roads could be quite a bit less bumpy. But the scenery of tranquil sites are worth it. Make sure you call or contact these campgrounds before you make plans. Just as campgrounds in the northern United States often close for the winter, not all Canadian Maritimes campgrounds will be open during their mild winters.
** King Neptune Campground is convenient to Peggy's Cove. (It's street address is 8536 Peggy's Cove Road, Indian Harbour). This easy-to-find campground is a scenic oceanside campground with many, many campsites having open views of the ocean. Plus if you're daring, there's ocean swimming.

A caravan equipment guide for beginners
For first-timers, there are “starter kits”, which many suppliers offer when your first caravan is purchased. However, this can be a problem if you are buying privately, as you will be short of items to place in your caravan.
To ensure that you remember to take the essential equipment, here is a list of ten items that you should not be without on your caravanning or Camping holiday.
Leisure battery
Many well-equipped campsites will offer electric hook-ups, but this isn’t always the case. An 110AH battery will enable you to travel in places where this is not available. The battery will provide you with enough power for the lights and pump and is essential.
There are several steps that you will need to take to ensure that your battery does not run out at times when you need it. Do not leave the battery inside when your caravan is parked in your drive in winter, make sure it is free of frost and always ensure that it is fully charged, even when it isn’t in use. Keep the terminals clean and dry, coat them with petroleum jelly occasionally and always ensure that the electrolyte levels are topped up.
Power lead and reel
A long power lead is vital for campsites where there is a hook-up. A lead that is around 20m with a reel will be easier to coil up and connect to the hook-up point.
Full gas bottle
A full gas bottle should be provided with your caravan, but it is always best to ask. The majority of gas outlets carry stocks, so it is easy to get refills.
Toilet chemicals
Toilet chemicals are essential. Once you have filled the flush tank up with water, add a pink liquid to keep the water fresh. A blue liquid for the washwater tank is also needed as this will help to prevent bad smells. When using toilet chemicals, only stick to ones that are suitable for your caravan’s toilet to avoid damage.
Dirty water carrier
You will need to take one of these to hold waste water. This will provide you with plenty of flexibility when travelling and will not limit you to which campsites you can stay at. Water carriers slide under the caravan beneath the waste water outlets and are available in a number of designs.
Water barrel and hose
This is a vital piece of equipment. Depending on how many people you are travelling with, anything from 29-40ltr should do. A mains water adapter will save you from having to fill your barrel every day and some offer taps and stands. A decent length hose, at least 7.5m, is also useful.
Fire extinguisher and smoke alarm
It is vital that you ensure that your caravan is equipped with these devices in case of a fire, especially as you may be away from any fire seRVices whilst camping. A dry powder fire extinguisher with a capacity of between 600g-1kg is essential and you will need to fit a smoke alarm if you haven’t already and keep a spare battery at hand.
First aid kit
Accidents can still occur whilst away from home, so it is vital that you have a first aid kit, along with a basic idea of how to use it. This should be stored in your caravan and equipped with safety pins, fabric dressings and plasters, scissors, woven bandages, aspirin and paracetamol. A basic care leaflet should also be included. First aid kits can be obtained from most outdoor pursuits shop.
Hitch cover
A hitch cover will help to protect your caravan from the weather and are often available with snaps or drawstrings to keep them secure.
Rear number plate
Your caravan should have a rear number plate. The rear number plate should have been included in the sale. If it wasn’t, then it is vital that you have one before you travel in your caravan.
In addition to these items, there are smaller items that will be of use during your camping holiday, such as torches, cooking utensils and spare batteries.

Angelina Jolie Fights to Save Darfur Refugees and Stop Crimes Against Humanity.
Pamela Shifman, of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said she heard dozens of horrifying stories from victims of sexual assaults. These accounts she heard includes countless gang rapes. She stated that, "Rape is used as a weapon to terrorize individual women and girls, and also to terrorize their families and to terrorize entire communities." Then she went on to say, "No woman or girl is safe." Shifman said that every woman and girl refugee that she spoke to in Dafur had either been sexually assaulted or knew of someone who has been raped. These rapes were said to often occur when they left the mild safety of their camp or settlement to find firewood for cooking. On the other hand, if a boy was caught, the Sudan military would kill him on sight.
In March of 2009, President al-Bashir was found guilty for three counts of genocide, seven counts of war crimes, five crimes against humanity and two of murder. A arrest warrant was issued by for the Sudanese president, who is still in power and rejected the charges saying, "Whoever has visited Darfur, met officials and discovered their ethnicities and tribes...will know that all these things are lies."
Angelina Jolie being a UNICEF rep wrote an article for People magazine in 2009 stating, "Bashir's response to the indictments was an insult to the international community and the hundreds of thousands who have died in Darfur. He kicked out of his country 16 international aid groups who were desperately trying to save his citizens. He even appointed one of the suspects, Ahmed Haroun, to a committee supposedly investigating human-rights abuses in Darfur. You'll struggle to find a better illustration of the culture of impunity that reigns in Khartoum."
On October 2009, US President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, and on October 19 2009 the Obama Administration will announce a new policy that will not make major concessions to Bashir, whose government is designated a "state sponsor of terrorism" by the State Department. That means the new US policy will be to reward Sudan with new lucrative trade agreements, loans and so forth in return for changing the current situation in Darfur. Or in other words, the US President does not wish to embark into a war to imprison Sudan's President al-Bashir for the crimes that he has been found guilty of, but instead will offer al-Bashir deals that will make the him and Sudan, more powerful. John Lock said, "Money creates power and power corrupts." If that be true, what would it do to an already corrupt government? It sounds like things are only going to get worse to the refugees in Darfur.
Because of the situation being ignored by the world's community, Angelina Jolie says, "Darfur has almost disappeared from the news, and experts now call it a "low-intensity" conflict. But the intensity of the crisis has not lessened for those who are struggling to suRVive." She tries to awaken the world about the atrocities that are being committed every single day in Darfur against the helpless refugees. Honestly I wonder if the world would pay more attention to the Darfur refugees had they been any other color than black, making it appear that the lack of publicity may mean the world is still stuck in a racially segregated place. Angelina goes on to say, "people from Darfur have lived destitute lives in refugee camps in Chad for six years now. Camps with more than 2 million internally displaced persons inside Darfur are even worse." This clearly indicates that ignoring the situation will not allow it to cure itself over time, but only will be cured with the force and peace that the US military can offer them, and most US soldiers would gladly give to lend a hand.
Since February 2003, rape, murder and starvation have become a daily occurrence for the refugees of Darfur. Imagine your son or daughter leaving a few meters beyond the camp to get firewood and then the Sudan military gang rapes your daughter and murders your son. Under these circumstances, what do you think should be done in Sudan to correct this injustice? Have you ever heard of The Never Ending Story? Well, the refugees in Darfur have because they are living it every day, in hopes of being rescued, of the possibility that tomorrow will be a better day. Please step up to the plate and write your local congressman or senator asking them to bring US forces into Sudan to forcibly free the refuges that live under the fear of al-Bashir, or think about the skills that you have and find a way to use those skills to help others become aware of the cruel injustices at Darfur.
IN March 20, 2003 the US government claimed that they had evidence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and that they posed a threat to the security of the US and its allies. The US went to war with Iraq over this issue, yet...there was no WMD present in Iraq...they were wrong! The dead and mutilated bodies of 450,000 human beings in Sudan obviously show more injustice than any that President Bush could identify in Iraq. The US had less reason to go to war in Iraq than they do currently in Sudan. Take a stand and stop the murders, the rapes the starvation today.

How Do You Define
A by-no-means-exhaustive search on the internet regarding "processed food" turns up some very divergent and controversial information and opinions on the subject. One camp eschews any kind of processed food; the other the safety and convenience of it. What is processed food? Wikipedia describes "processed food" as any food that is changed from its natural, raw state. Did you peel your banana before you ate it? Cut your apple into slices? Stir-fry your dinner vegetables? Scramble your egg? You just processed your food by that definition. Following are common food processing techniques listed in
the Wikipedia entry:
* "Removal of unwanted outer layers, such as potato peeling or the skinning of peaches
* Chopping or slicing, of which examples include potato chips, diced carrot, or candied peel.
* Mincing and macerating
* Liquefaction, such as to produce fruit juice
* Emulsification
* Cooking, such as boiling, broiling, frying, steaming or grilling
* Mixing
* Addition of gas such as air entrainment for bread or gasification of soft drinks
* Proofing
* Spray drying"
Under that broad of a definition, nearly every food we eat is processed. However, most of us tend to define processed food in a much narrower sense. For us, "processed food" is food which has been chemically altered through additives such as flavors, flavor enhancers, binders, colors, fillers, preseRVatives, stabilizers, emulsifiers, etc., or which has been manufactured through combination
or other methods. Generally speaking, if the ingredients aren't "natural", then we consider it to be processed.
If you want to make yourself totally paranoid about your food (and that's not too hard to do), there is plenty of information out there spelling out all the horrors that await you from eating processed food: the cancers and diseases you will get from the dioxins and thousands of other toxic chemicals; the shorter life span you will have; the damage you personally are inflicting upon our planet through your consumption of processed food, etc. There is no shortage of Chicken Littles running around squawking about the sky falling. And, to some extent, they're right. The chemicals in our food and our environment are certainly not doing us any favors.
But are things really as bad as they make them out to be? The truth is, processing has made the world's food supply much safer to eat, and has made the storage of food a much healthier and more viable option. Processing kills pathogens, and extends the shelf life of food. Were there to be a food shortage or even a famine, shelf items are going to keep you alive a lot longer than raw food, which will be rotten within a few days. Processing had made it possible to transport food to famine-stricken areas, thus helping to relieve suffering worldwide. Processing even increases the bioavailability of some nutrients, such as lycopene, found in tomatoes.
Despite these benefits, a diet exclusive in processed foods will almost certainly lead to disease. Our bodies are designed to eat natural, raw foods; there's no doubt about that. Raw foods contain beneficial enzymes and nutrients that are destroyed through processing. Just because a pill contains the "nutrients" of a whole shopping list of vegetables doesn't mean our bodies get the same benefit as eating the vegetables themselves. Nutrients, enzymes, and other components of the foods we eat work synergistically. We really don't know how well they work when they're isolated from each other, or when we ingest synthetic versions.
We should eat as many raw foods as we can daily. Adding fresh fruits and vegetables to our meals and snacks is an easy way to accomplish this. However, a totally vegan diet is just not feasible for most people. Time and resources are often strong opponents to good health. Additionally, there is not enough raw food for everybody to suddenly adopt veganism, nor would everybody want to. We must each find the proper balance that works for us.
Eliminating all processed food is probably not going to happen for most of us. But we can make better food choices and supplement our diets with missing components. We can opt for the apple over the apple juice. We can choose a baked potato or salad over french fries. We can choose whole-grain bread over the white fluff that is passed off as bread. We can take the time to read food labels. Chances are, if you can't pronounce it, you shouldn't be eating it. We can choose processed foods with a very short list of ingredients; the longer the list, the more processing involved, and the more nutrition lost.
Our bodies are amazing organisms, capable of extraordinary things. They are designed to filter out toxins at an astounding rate. They have a highly sophisticated defense system. They have an amazing ability to recover from serious damage. The key lies in providing our bodies with the necessary building blocks to accomplish what they were designed to do-to keep us alive!

Jollibee Franchise Prices Six things you need to Know
Times are hard; we are in an economic recession and spending a lot of time and money on a franchise is a huge decision. If you could sink your teeth into a business that has a proven track record and make a substantial living then the price you pay just might be worth it! For example, let's take a look at a Jollibee franchise model and price range and see if it is what you are looking for.
What started out as an ice cream parlour in Manila during the 1970's and has exploded into one of the top franchises in today's market. Here are six things you should know before purchasing a Jollibee franchise.
1) What are the qualifications to be a Jollibee franchise owner?
Well, you must have an entrepreneurial spirit, be self-motivated and have the ability to inspire people to work in a fast pace environment. You must be willing to do what it takes to oversee the day to day operations of the restaurant. Take full time training in Jollibee restaurant operations and the ability to fund the operation. Whew! I'm already tired.
2) Can I get a good location?
With a Jollibee franchise you will have to find your own location. They will still take your application but nothing can be done until you have an applied site.
3) What do I get for my investment?
For the price of your investment you will get; the construction of the building, kitchen equipment and supplies, furnishings and lighting, air conditioning, signage and pre-operating expenses.
4) What about hiring and training?
Jollibee will help with the initial hiring and training of the management team but the franchise owner is responsible for the salaries and benefits of these employees while training. So you better have a float to get you started.
5) What kind of return can I expect on my investment?
The return on your investment would depend on several factors such as, location, sales, your ability to control operating expenses, and your ability to train and hold onto good employees.
6) And finally what is the cost of my investment?
The cost of your investment, depending on store size and location, will run you between $250,000.00- $500,000.00 USD. Ouch!
If you are looking to spend that kind of money on a business venture then a Jollibee franchise just might be what you are looking for. They are very successful and whenever a new restaurant opens up they are lined up down the street.
Now, if you would be interested in a business venture that has a minimal investment, with low overhead costs, completely uniformed and is arguably one of the hottest success models on the internet with returns like a Jollibee franchise then please got tohttp://www.make1kaday.ca

Different Types of BBQ Grills
Summer is here and the steaks are ready to grill, the only problem is that you don't know exactly what type of barbeque grill to buy. There are many questions that need to be asked when buying a grill. Things such as cost, ease of use, other uses besides grilling, flavor and portability should be considered. The most important item in this list depends on what you want. This article looks in detail at the different categories and makes a judgment on which grills would be best in that category, charcoal, propane, natural gas or smokers.
Cost
If cost is the main factor, the grill to go for is charcoal. They start at $15.00 for a small, basic unit and only $30.00 for a standard 22" kettle grill. Propane grills are the next lowest in price, starting at around $100.00 for a basic unit. A small smoker starts at around $130.00. Since natural gas grills are supposed to be hooked to a home's gas line, they tend to be larger units, and more expensive starting around $300.00. They now have dual fuel grills as well that use natural gas most of the time but can also use propane; these are the most expensive with an asking price of $450.00 up.
Ease of Use
The easiest grill to use is probably the natural gas grill. It is hooked to your homes natural gas line and therefore doesn't require you to buy large propane tanks on a regular basis. Getting a grill that has a battery powered or electric starter makes things even easier. Propane is probably the next easiest to use since there are no charcoal briquettes or wood chips to worry about. While it seems that a larger grill is a better grill, remember that larger also means a larger area to clean.
Additional Features
Natural gas or propane grills can offer additional cook spaces that a charcoal or smoker unit cannot. If you plan to cook full meals on your grill, gas burners and a warming tray come in handy. A rotisserie option may also be important to you depending on what you want to grill.
Flavor
If flavor is the most important item on your list, a smoker or a charcoal grill should be your first priority. Smokers are meant to slow cook over time and impart a smoky flavor to meats. You can choose the type of wood to smoke that will give you the flavor you are looking for. The only problem with a smoker is when you want a quick pork chop or hamburger, it isn't so quick. Consider a gas grill for quicker cook meals and a smoker when you really want to impress the neighbors. Charcoal is the next best in the flavor department with no gas undertone. Gas grills can also impart a good grilled flavor, and now many gas grills have a smoker option on them.
Portability
When portability is the most important requirement, propane is the way to go. Charcoal grills run a close second. Small propane tanks make it easy to take your grill Camping or to a tailgate party and you aren't left wondering where to put the smoldering coals. Charcoal can work and there are several small portable units available; just make sure you have a plan for what to do with the used briquettes.

If you did a pit for any purpose, ensure that it is covered hard before you leave the place so no one falls into it.
Keep noise to the minimum especially between 1 am and 7am when many people would be asleep.
Before you leave the park, ensure that all fires have been put out and that there is no smoke.

Camping With Poly Tarps
Camping with poly tarps: Hiking Often times while hiking people are trying to figure out ways to cut down on weight. Tarps have two main uses for hiking a ground sheet and as a tent. By carrying a length of rope and a small tarp with each person it is easy to construct a tent when the weather is bad or it is cold outside. Using tarps for Tents can weigh less than half the weight of a regular tent and they are more compact. When the weather is nice and you want to sleep under the stars a tarp also makes a nice ground sheet, saving your sleeping bag from possibly getting any holes or tears in it.
Camping with poly tarps: Covering equipment When camping it's always handy to have something to cover exposed equipment with. Often time's people need to keep something out of the rain or cover it from the sun a poly tarp is perfect for this use. By taking a poly tarp and throwing it over what you want to protect and putting rocks around the edges you have an instant and inexpensive shelter.
Camping with poly tarps: Hunting When hunting people like to use what are called blinds. Blinds hide the hunter from the bird or animal that they are hunting. The nice thing about poly tarps is they can be purchased in different shades and colors so that they can blend in with the type of terrain that you are hunting in. An added plus for using poly tarps for hunting is that they can be moved easily.
Camping with poly tarps: Setting up a sun screen for your family When camping no one wants to stay in a tent all day but no one wants to stay in the sun either. Poly tarps can make it easy to make a shelter from the sun, weather you construct a frame out of natural material or you decide to make a frame out of PVC pipe, using a poly tarp is a great alternative to spending hundreds of dollars for a sun shade.
After your camping trip is over you can use a poly tarp to cover your camp trailer or your boat. By keeping your trailer or boat covered the suns harmful rays won't be able to break down their good looks and your equipment will last for years.
Poly tarps are light weight and can be bought in many different colors weather to blend in with the terrain that you are in or to stand out, a poly tarp can seRVe all your covering needs. Weather you are covering up the wood pile or your camping equipment at home or making a do it your self tent in the forest you can't go wrong with a poly tarp.

Cheap Family Vacations - Some Suggestions
The real secret to cheap family vacations is to be opportunistic. When a friend offers you their cabin on the lake, say yes. Can you have as much fun at the cheaper, closer amusement park? Then that's where you need to be. Do the kids like the idea of cooking dinner over a campfire? Drive right on by that reastaurant. Find out what everyone really enjoys. It's sad to spend MORE on a trip for LESS enjoyment.
Examples Of Cheap Family Vacations
In Michigan, and many other places, you can find reasonable motels on the beach. Cheaper, and usually more scenic, are the numerous campgrounds on the beaches of Lakes Michigan, Superior, and Huron. You can find these in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and in Ontario, Canada. Below are a couple beach-based vacation ideas.
Treasure Hunting Vacations
Two metal detectors will cost less than a few nights with the family in a hotel. Why not camp near a ghost town or beach, and spend your days hiking, exploring, and hunting buried treasure? We always find interesting things when we take our metal detector to the beach. The kids will love the adventure, and when they get bored with digging up quarters, they have swimming nearby.
Beachcombing Vacations
This is cheap, and the whole family can enjoy it. You can find all sorts of things washed up on the beaches of the Great Lakes and the Oceans. In Michigan, we used to find bouys, parts of houses, and light bulbs. The light bulbs actually worked, a mystery solved years later when a sailor told me they throw them overboard for target practice. We were finding the ones that escaped the bullets.
We also found chunks of coal that had fallen off freighters. We burned them in the campfire. We found balloons with messages attached, sea shells, fossil rocks, odd-shaped driftwood, pieces of styrofoam big enough to use as rafts, and - you get the point.
Camping Vacations
If your family is willing to live in Tents for a few days, or if you already own an RV, Camping is the cheapest of cheap family vacations. We recently stayed at Williams Landing in Florida for eight days. We stalked alligators, watched armadillos walk through camp, saw a dozen other forms of wildlife, and sat around the fire trading stories with new friends from England and Texas every night. The cost, including the hot showers: zero. Woodall's catalog, available at any big RV dealer has listings of free campgrounds.
Other Cheap Family Vacations
How about a Montana testicle festival? Festival vacations can keep the whole family happy. You'll usually find carnival rides, music, events, contests, and more. By the way, Montana's testicle festivals are billed as family events, but good luck trying to get the kids to eat the "Rocky Mountain Oysters."
Boondocking is all about parking your recreational vehicle where you don't have to pay. If you aren't sure that kids will enjoy being in the middle of nowhere, find a ghost town or other treasure hunting locale. In Arizona, an old Mayan Indian showed us where to look for arrowheads, semi-precious stones, and ancient pottery. The desert is a great place to escape to in the winter, and treasure hunting is cheap vacation as well.
There are many more cheap family vacations, and many ways to keep any vacation cheaper. Stock the cooler with 25 cent pop instead of paying pop-machine prices. Keep the kids full on healthy snacks to avoid restaurants. Be an opportunistic vacationer.

Canopy Tents, Portable Shelters and Heavy Duty Tarps
People
One of the main purposes of a portable shelter or canopy tent is to provide protection for people. They make for a great substitute for traditional canvas covers since they are easier to setup. With a fixed leg pop up canopy, like those sold on Global Industrial, you will be able to create a temporary shelter for you and your family or friends instantly. And, as easily as you can set them up, you can also easily dismantle your portable tent or shelter to store in your car or garage.
This is a great solution for whenever you decide to go on a Camping trip or an afternoon picnic. They are also great for use in fairs and barbecues as well. Not only can they provide you with protection from the harmful rays of the sun, but they will keep you dry as well during the rain.
Equipment and vehicles
A portable garage or garage kit on the other hand gives you that much needed car space. Whether for home or for outside, these things can help protect your car or SUV from the sun and rain. Choosing the Best Ab Machines for Your Workouts - Tips on Selecting Abdominal Exercise Equipment
When you are in the market for the best ab machines for your workouts, it can be tough to figure out exactly which abdominal exercise equipment will do the job. Each manufacturer claims theirs is the best, so how are you to know the real truth?
Target all of Your Abdominal Muscles
The most important thing to consider when selecting exercise equipment for strengthening your abdomen, is that the best machines target all of your abdominal and oblique muscles. It is not enough for a machine to work just one or two sections, it must help you reach all areas if it is to be effective. Many of the inexpensive machines and devices that you see on TV infomercials only work part of the abdominal region, so do some more research before you call that toll free number.
How it Feels
Whatever ab machine you purchase must feel comfortable, or it will end up gathering dust in a corner somewhere. The best option is to visit a fitness equipment retailer and try several different machines to determine which is best suited to your needs. Remember that the best abdominal exercise machines are adjustable to fit different body shapes and sizes, which is especially important if more than one person in your family will be using the equipment.
Give Your Back a Break
Most personal trainers will tell you that the biggest challenge when working your abs is to do so in a way that protects your back. It does you no good to buy an abdominal exercise machine that causes you back pain, so this is another reason why you should try out several of the better ab machines before selecting equipment to buy.
More Expensive is not Always More Effective
Abdominal equipment is available in a wide range of prices, and while price is generally an indicator of quality it is not always the best indicator of which exercise machine is most effective. There are several machines available for less than $100 that provide an effective abdominal workout when used correctly, and even a few that are less than $50.
Expert Advice and Guidance
One of the best ways to select an ab workout machine is to get some expert advice and guidance. There are a number of ways to do this, such as:
Internet research There are literally thousands of web sites that promote and sell abdominal exercise machines, so be selective about the research you do. Look for sites that are run by reputable fitness magazines or equipment centers, and check out their ab reviews and recommendations.
Fitness retailer A retailer that focuses solely on fitness equipment and exercise machines can offer you good advice on the best ab training equipment for you to consider, and will let you try out the machines as well.
Certified personal trainer If you are new to abdominal workouts, have back troubles, or just want some expert advice, it is worth your while to consult a certified personal trainer. Check with a reputable health club to find certified trainers in your area.

Things You Should Know About Tents
Choosing Your Tent
Here are a few hints when choosing the tent just right for you or your family.
Tents that are advertised as one person are rarely big enough for one person.
Two person Tents are usually comfortable for just one person, a three person tent is comfortable for two people and so on.
If you do not pick something large enough, you will find yourself cramped , claustrophobic and uncomfortable.
Pick something that will give you a little room to move and some space for some of your gear as well.
Each person needs about 3 by 7 feet to stretch out. You will need extra room to dress etc.
Remember, if the weather is not good, you will be stuck in whatever you have picked..
You don't want to be sitting cramped and hunched over feeling miserable.
In deciding on what you need, decide whether you will be summer or winter Camping, and whether you will be backpacking .
Tents are not waterproof. They are made of breathable ripstop nylon. It allows your sweat and breath to evaporate.
This means you need a rainfly. They are waterproof. It fits over the roof of the tent and is meant to carry away rainwater from the tent sides.
Make sure the fly is large enough to substantially cover the tent walls.
Applying a sealant to the tent seams is a good idea. Apply sealer as needed throughout the tents life.
Most tents have a fine mesh screen over the door and window designed to keep out insects.
All netting is not alike. Standard netting is made of nylon. Dacron is a finer mesh to discourage even the smallest bugs.
They are usually zippered at the entrance with a flap that zippers over the door and window for privacy.
Because of the nature of the fabric used in making tents, being porous, very few tents are designed to keep you warm.
They are designed to protect you from the weather and from insects. They will protect you from the wind and rain, snow and sun.
To care for your tent, nylon is virtually maintenance free. The only thing that needs to be done is sealant occasionally.
Of coarse never store your tent when it is wet, or even slightly damp. Always set it up when you are finished your trip and dry it out completely.
Also sponge off any dirt or mud inside using a very mild liquid detergent or a baking soda and water solution.
Be sure to make any repairs if you have had the misfortune to burn or damage your tent in some way.
You can buy repair kits that come in various colors and are easy to use. Store your tent in a cool, dry place in its storage bag.
Dome Tents
The basic style of the dome tent is hexagonal. The fabric usually used is nylon. The weight is about two and one-half to seven and one-half pounds.
The tent is usually free-standing or self supporting. This means no stakes or lines are needed under normal circumstances.
However you should never leave it unoccupied without staking it down because the wind can send this lightweight tent tumbling off.
The dome tent is great for backpackers and canoeists. Its the choice of winter campers and mountaineers in larger sizes. The reason is because of its aerodynamic shape.
It resists gusts of wind well and is easy to set up and dismantle. The only problem with this type of tent is that it is not well ventilated. Moisture tends to gather at the top of the dome.
Tunnel Tent
This type of tent is primarily a backpacker's shelter. It can weigh as little as one and one-half pounds.
The type of material used is generally nylon. It is not very spacious. The advantage of this tent is how compact it becomes.
It can be rolled into a tight bundle no larger than a football. It is a free standing tent, not needing any lines or stakes unless a fly is added.
It is lightweight, which makes it ideal for the backpacker or canoeist. Because of its design the wind flows off of it easily and makes it great for winter Camping.
It has a screened opening at one end and can be closed against severe weather. It is easily erected and dismantled. It also ventilates well.
The A-Frame Tent
This tent is used primarily by the backpacker. The frame of this tent can be either fitted into sleeves or standing independently of the shelter.
Gone are the days of the upright pole that used to hold it up in the middle of the opening. They are generally made out of nylon. Weights vary from about 3 pounds to about 6.
These tents are ideal for canoe trips, climbers , fishermen and hunters. They are relatively lightweight and spacious.
A vestibule can be added to the front opening adding very little weight and adding an extra 10 to 20 square feet. This makes it ideal for storing your gear and giving you extra sleeping area.
