Oct. Camping Trips

Ginger and I went to three campground in two trips this month. First we went to Baker Creek in McCormick SC.  We stayed there two days then left for the Great  Smokey Mountain Fish Camp. And Safari.  This one of our favorite places to camp. It is north of Franklin NC. We stayed there for five days.  After leaving there we came home for two weeks then went to Campfire Lodging campground just north of Asheville NC.

Rainy Day

Well it has bee raining here all day.  Be glad when time to go camping comes around again.

I am going to try to go fishing next week if the weather gets better.

Nothing else to write about so by for now.

Nothing Special

Thinking about camping.  It was a cool morning and I was siting on the patio about first light drinking coffee and thanking about my next camping trip.  It will most likely be to the mountains to the fish camp.  Smallmouth should be biting now and I don't want to miss an opportunity. 

I will let you know how it goes.

Dahlonega Ga.

Ginger & I had a very nice trip last weekend.  We went to Dahlonega Ga. with two other couples. I did some trout fishing (no luck) but the weather was fine and got plenty to eat.  We eat breakfast at the Bourbon Street Grill, really great! If you get a chance don't miss going to Dahlonega it is well worth the trip. It is a really laid back town with very friendly people.  It is in the gold country in North Georgia.  Sometime in the early 1820's gold was discovered and created the first gold rush in the east. 
One of the places to eat is the Smith House great food and you can see into a real gold mine.

Good Day Fishing

I went to Santee Lake Marion on Wednesday and had a good day fishing.  Caught 2 nice Largemouth in the 3lb class. 
The day was warm and sunny water temp was in the high 50's.  I think the fish are beginning to move into shallow water getting ready to spawn.  The bite is still slow but should be picking up soon.
When you can get outdoors its a great day.  Camping is just around the cornor so it's time to start checking out the camper.

Fishing at Santee

Well the weather is warm and the water temp. is coming up so it's time to start looking for fish getting ready to bed.  I will try to go tomorrow and see if I can fool one into biting.  It has been cold here and the wind has been blowing rather strong. But tomorrow is going to be better. 

It's time to get your tackle out and put new line on your reel.  Of course Bass Pro Shop is the place to buy.  They have plenty of specials going on now so click on an add in my web site and check them out.

Lets get camping.

It is a beautiful day in South Carolina around 70 degrees and sunny.  Great camping weather.

I went fishing last week not much luck but just getting out on the lake makes it all worth while.  Lake Marion and the Santee Swamp is beautiful all the time.  I am only 30minutes from the lake also Santee State Park is only about 45 minutes away.  It is a full service campground with sites on the water.  Most sites are shaded and the view is great.

Cabin fever

Well folkes here I sit at home and I should be camping. This nice warm weather is giving me cabin fever. I'm sure the fish are biting so why am I missing this great time to be out doors.
I can't think of a good reason. Would some one please give me a good reason. If I don't hear from anyone I am going to assume I'm right and at least go fishing.

Remodeling

This is what can happen when two old people decided to remodel the bath room in the master bedroom.
Started out just painting and wall paper, but it has developed into a monster.

Beautiful Sunday Afternoon

I just finished working on my Web Site and thought I would take a break.  I went outside and it is a beautiful day.  Then I thought "Should have been camping this weekend."  That's the trouble I don't go enough.  Once a week end like this is gone we can't get it back and there's always a place close by we can go.  Santee State Park is only 30 min. away.  Another place is Angle's Campground just 1hr. away.  So no excuse!!  Lets all get out there and spend some quality time and Go Camping.
